HOMO FABER
VENICE 2024
For the second time, Buccellati is showcasing at Homo Faber, a cultural event dedicated to the celebration of art, creativity and craftsmanship, held at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, in Venice from September 1st to September 30th. For the event, the Maison will present two projects: the first one pays homage to high-jewellery craftsmanship. The second one is dedicated to Art de la Table.
The jewellery project, named Idyllium Floralis, interprets the eternal love, transmitted by the perfectly circular shape of the Eternelle rings and the Bangle Bracelet. The pieces are representative of Buccellati style and its DNA, from the Honeycomb technique on one of the two rings, to the lilac enamelling on the bracelet and eternelle.
Armatae Flores is the majestic centrepiece composed by a garland of artichokes, enriched by another series of limited and numbered single silver artichokes. The history of Buccellati's artichoke goes back to the 60's, when Gianmaria Buccellati, following his father's path, understands the potential of Art de la Table. He then created a series of vegetables, among which an artichoke, hiding in its thorny leaves, the mechanism of a lighter. Thanks to the continuous research in the Maison's Archives, a rare specimen of this object has recently been restored and brought back to its ancient glory. It now belongs to the Buccellati Historic Collection.
THE EVENT
Homo Faber offers a sensorial experience to the discovery of savoir faire, offering to the public the possibility of discovering great talents and their creations. The Michelangelo Foundation, which curated the event, has appointed Luca Guadagnino, director and film producer, and Nicolò Rosmarini, young Milanese architect, the artistic direction. The theme "The Journey of Life", was born from an idea of Hanneli Rupert, Vice President of the Foundation.
Buccellati participates by presenting two creations celebrating the rich value and timelessness of the handmade. A peculiar silver Art de la Table creation sits in the Sala del Cenacolo Palladiano, dedicated to the theme "Celebration", and an exposition of jewels in the Sala degli Arazzi, celabrating the theme of "Love and Union".
