"CAROLINGI" BUTTON EARRINGS

Gianmaria Buccellati was a truly historian, interested in experimenting new styles from different eras, but always reinterpriting them with his signature engraving techniques. He passed over to his son Andrea the love and desire for the Arts, a continuing research that led him to discover his personal interpretation of the Buccellati style, surely more contemporary and projected towards the future. This pair of button earrings are a symbol of his interest towards a late Middle Age style, those of Barbarian invasions where synuous shapes and stylized decorations result in a blending of Germanic traditions and late Roman influences. The oval surface in yellow gold "Rigato" engraved is embellished by shiny beads and central rosettes in white gold set with 16 brilliant-cut diamonds of 0,22 carats. At the center, 2 cabochon rubies of 2,06 carats stand out for their deep red hues, while "Modellato" engraved borders present fan-shaped elements set with 48 rose-cut diamonds of 1,31 carats. Safety pin closure in white gold.
