THE CITY ON THE TERRACE

Milan 2022

On occasion of its debut to Milan Design Week Buccellati invited Stefano Boeri Interiors to design the set-up of the extraordinary exhibition taking place on the maison’s headquarters terrace. The building located in via Brisa 5, originally designed by Piero Portaluppi and fully renovated to host Buccellati’s offices and workshop is an icon of the understated elegance of the city by itself.

Stefano Boeri Interiors created a stunning interaction of mirror elements at the Buccellati terrace, aiming to create a bridge between the different eras and souls of the city. The set up, enriched by garden elements will represent Buccellati’s journey into conviviality further interpreted by four international designers.

DimoreStudio

DimoreStudio

Doge Collection

DimoreStudio is renowned for bringing to light Italian historical details and effortlessly blending them with unexpected contemporary elements. Since it was founded in 2003 by Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, the studio has become one of the leading lights on the international design scene.

DimoreStudio interprets Buccellati’s Doge Collection, bringing its unconventional approach inspired by architecture, fashion and design to the table. A tribute to Venice, the Doge Collection presents outstanding silversmithing art, enhanced through the addition of stones and pearls.

Ashley Hicks

Rouche Collection

Ashley Hicks

Rouche Collection

Born and raised up in a high-profile interior design environment, Ashley Hicks studied at London’s Architectural Association before working with his father, design icon David Hicks, and since embarking on his own career. Ashley Hicks’ strongly decorative approach to design has fast established the designer as a master of prints, textile design and “painted interiors”.

With his contemporary interpretation of the British aristocratic aesthetic, Hicks has come up with his own take on Buccellati’s Rouche Collection, featuring pieces from ancient Greece which is close to the British designer’s heart.

Chahan Minassian

Caviar Collection

Chahan Minassian

Caviar Collection

Paris-based designer Chahan Minassian has established himself as the official voice of contemporary design through his highly curated interior projects. Such a position comes from Minassian’s skillful blend of textiles, lighting, and essential lines, often flanked by vintage American pieces and works by artists unearthed by the designer himself.

Chahan Minassian has been invited to Milan Design Week 2022 to put forward his own take on the Maison’s Caviar Collection. Dating back to the 1930s, this historical Buccellati collection is based on balls of caviar. Minassian’s taste for works of art stands to bolster the artistic vein behind this collection, even in its most recent incarnation which sees the addition of Murano glass elements.

Patricia Urquiola

Tahiti Collection

Patricia Urquiola

Tahiti Collection

Patricia Urquiola is an international contemporary design superstar who, although born in Spain, is naturalized Milanese. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano under master designer Achille Castiglioni, Urquiola has worked with practically all of the world’s major design brands. Buccellati has invited the designer to give her own take on the Tahiti Collection.

For the occasion, Urquiola plays with the idea of etiquette, transferring it into the image of a sophisticated picnic basket. It invites us to find joy in nature with the Maison’s iconic 1960s flatware.

Buccellati suggests to renovate the pleasure of receiving guests at home, staying together, enjoying good, beautiful and well made things, in a unique frame projected by an architect who is the simbol of Milanesity.

A global message starting from the roots to recount the values of the Italian heritage of the Maison through contemporary lifestyles.

Inaugurated with a gran gala dinner, the Buccellati Galateo immediately imposed itself as one of the must see events of the Milan Design Week, registering a strong participation.
